Spiti Full Circuit — Fixed Departure

The trip in one breath

The full arc, run as a fixed batch. Shimla through Kinnaur into Spiti — Nako, Tabo, Dhankar, Kaza, Key Monastery, Chicham bridge — and out over Kunzum Pass to Manali. Gaining altitude gradually from the Shimla side is the safe way to do this circuit, and it is why we always run it in this direction.

Trip highlights

  • Key Monastery at sunset and Chicham bridge
  • Hikkim — the world's highest post office
  • A night camping at Chandratal
  • Kunzum Pass at 15,060 ft
  • Tabo's thousand-year-old mud monastery

Before you book

We run the circuit from Shimla precisely so you gain altitude over three days instead of one. Oxygen and an oximeter travel with the group, the captain checks saturation each evening, and the itinerary has buffer to descend if anyone struggles.
